Alvina Valenta Names Jessica Williams as New Head Designer

There has been an exciting development in bridal this month. JLM Couture has named a new "head designer" to take the reigns of Alvina Valenta.

Quoted from a Press Release from JLM:

Beginning a new and exciting phase in the history of the internationally renowned bridal and bridesmaids design house, Alvina Valenta, Jessica Williams has been named its new head designer, parent company JLM Couture announced today.

"There's a very unique family environment at JLM, which to me is so very appealing, compared to the big corporate culture. It's extremely supportive," Williams noted.

"The collection has always been beautifully proper and refined," said Williams. "Although my designs will continue to reference classic Alvina silhouettes, I also plan to introduce a soft, youthful touch with more airiness and fluidity that will give the line a dreamier, more romantic look."

Alvina Valenta gowns are known for their timeless elegance, sophistication and most especially their attention to detail. One of the collection's most successful looks is the fluted silhouette.

Williams said she plans to update the sophisticated tradition of the line by introducing new silhouettes, combining a mix of different beading and fabrics.

"I expect this fresh approach will soften the collection, giving it a more organic feel," Williams said. "Of course, we will always look to the runway collections recognizing and respecting the more enduring trends introduced there.

Mon Amie is happy to continue to carry JLM's bridal lines Alvina Valenta, Jim Hjelm, and Lazaro.

We just returned from New York Brida
l Week and it was such as blast!

Here is a First Look at Spring 2010!

This season the bridal designers wowed us with fashion-forward inspired designs.

Each designer we saw incorporated their signature styles with intricate details such as embroidery, pleating, ruffles and billowing skirts that made their gowns look as though they were floating!

There was such an abundance of craftsmanship with wonderful hand sewn details.

There were glamorous gowns, gowns filled with fun elements, gowns in wonderful colors - such as blush and lavender, and traditional gowns with modern twists!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my favorite new pieces from this season. You can see all the latest runway gowns at our upcoming designer Trunk Shows. Welcome Spring!

This is your chance to meet Liancarlo co-founder and Designer, Carlos Ramirez, during his only West Coast appearance for 2008! He will be spending 1-on-1 time with lucky brides to create amazing wedding gowns especially them!

The Grand Opening celebration will kick-off Saturday Nov 15th at 9:30am with a Fashion Show of the latest Liancarlo gowns, hosted by the designer! Here are some pictures of my cousin who recently was married on a beautiful day in Southern California. She wore a silk satin Eve of Milady that was hand beaded and embroidered.

Her mother wore a stunning silk charmuse and hand beaded Stephen Yearick Mother of the Occasion gown from Mon Amie Bridal Salon.

The bridesmaids were dressed in taffeta slim cut Amale maids gowns from Mon Amie.

My grandmother wore a lavender chiffon Jasmine Jade - Mother of the Occasion gown from Mon Amie Bridal Salon. I wore a purple tulle Lazaro bridesmaids gown - that I had been waiting for the chance to wear.
